We've been shipping quietly for months. Today we're pulling it all together — ten upgrades that touch almost every corner of Shoosh, from the overlay your viewers see to the tools you use behind the scenes. A few of these you've maybe never noticed. Here's everything that's new.

One canvas for your whole overlay

Building your overlay used to mean juggling separate tabs for alerts, announcements, and chat. Now it's all one screen.

Drag any alert or announcement onto the canvas and drop it where you want it on stream — zones snap into place, so there's no pixel-pushing. Each zone can even queue up several cards that play in order. Click any card and a live editor opens right next to the preview, with every setting — size, animation, colors — in one place.

The Overlay Layout builder — the whole overlay on one canvas, with a live card editor open beside the preview.

Six new looks for chat

Chat on your overlay had one fixed look. Now you can pick from six.

Choose Comic Burst, Minimal Glass, Neon Terminal, Broadcast Ticker, Soft Pastel, or the original Classic, right from the Overlay Layout editor. Badges, platform icons, and donation tiers carry over automatically no matter which one you pick — switching styles is a one-click choice, not a redesign.

The six chat templates side by side — Comic Burst, Minimal Glass, Neon Terminal, Broadcast Ticker, Soft Pastel, and Classic — each rendering the same message.

Turn your chat into a crowd

Heckle Mode is a completely different way to see chat — not a scrolling list, but a live crowd standing right on your overlay.

Every message stands a viewer's avatar up in the audience, reacting as they type. Crowd size, spacing, and how long people linger after talking are all yours to tune, so it can feel like a packed house or a chill front row depending on your stream.

Heckle Mode — chat as a live crowd on the overlay: each viewer stands as a ringed avatar with a speech bubble, the one talking lit pink with an equalizer.

Moderate chat without breaking your flow

Mod Tools has its own home in the dashboard now, and moderating chat takes one click instead of a hunt.

Right-click any message to time out or ban the sender, mute their TTS, or hide them from the overlay — all inline, without leaving chat, and it works the same way on every platform, even ones without built-in moderation of their own. The new Chatters tab goes further: right-click a name for a full profile — their role, recent messages, and a search scoped to just that person — so you can see the pattern before you act.

The Chatters tab — one viewer's full message history, searchable and scoped to just that person.

Let your chat animate itself

Viewers can make their own messages jump, shake, or explode across your overlay — no setup required on your end.

Commands like !big, !shake, !explode, !nod, !ripple, !bloom, and !jitter animate a viewer's own message right on stream. It's a small thing, but it makes chat feel alive in a way plain text never does.

The Viewer FX panel — the eight text-effect commands (!big, !small, !shake, !nod, !explode, !ripple, !bloom, !jitter) with mode and permission controls.

A soundboard your chat can play

Viewers can drop a sound effect into your stream with a single chat command.

Turn on Chat Sounds and any !sound command plays instantly, at a volume you control, with a cooldown so it can't be spammed. One more way for chat to join in without typing a wall of text.

The Sound Commands panel — a Chat Sounds toggle and volume, custom uploaded clips each with a chat command, and a built-in sound library.

One link for everything

Your own page — avatar, bio, schedule, socials, and every link your viewers need — in one place.

Claim your handle, add your buttons, and share one link everywhere: your Twitch panel, your YouTube description, your TikTok bio. No separate link-in-bio tool required.

A Link in Bio page on mobile — avatar, name, bio, a stack of Vital Links (with a featured tip button), and a socials row.

A tip jar built right in

That same page has a built-in way for viewers to support you directly — no third-party donation platform required.

Viewers pick a preset or custom amount, add an optional message that gets read aloud on stream, and check out through Stripe. You stay in control of your own payouts; we never sit in the middle of your money.

The built-in donation widget — preset tip amounts, a custom amount, an optional read-aloud message, a cover-the-fees option, and Stripe checkout.

The Support section — a bug report with anonymized diagnostics auto-attached and a threaded conversation with the Shoosh team.

A cleaner way to get around

We flattened the whole dashboard into one clear list.

Platforms, TTS, Overlay, Sound & Media Commands, Promote, Question Queue, Viewer FX, Stream Links, Mod Tools, Account — everything lives at the same level now, so you're never more than one click from any setting.

The redesigned dashboard nav — a flat 10-item list (Platforms, TTS, Overlay, Sound & Media Commands, Promote, Question Queue, Viewer FX, Stream Links, Mod Tools, Account).

That's everything. Thanks for streaming with us — go try the new stuff.
